WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) – An 18-year-old man was seriously injured after crashing a small plane in a Wauwatosa neighborhood on Thursday, May 26.
It happened in the area of North 103rd Street and Courtland Avenue around 3 p.m.
When officials arrived, they located a single-engine propeller plane that had crashed in a backyard.

We spoke with the owner of this house – the plane crashed in his garden. He said it was a loud thud that shook the house. He said he came out immediately to check on the pilot, who was alive. The owner trained him to keep breathing until the ambulance arrived pic.twitter.com/8SCAJ4zHX8

Officials said the pilot was exited from the plane and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The plane is believed to have taken off from Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee County before crashing.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been contacted and will assist with the investigation.
The Wauwatosa Police Department is the lead agency for the incident along with the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
