The following information is obtained from the Clinton County Health Department and is compiled from inspection reports.
Violations are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations are more likely to contribute to food contamination, disease, or an environmental health hazard, including improper cooking of food or poor personal hygiene.

• Café Kairos, 1593 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, November 30.
Critical: Verification demonstrating that employees are informed when to report illness is not available. Person in charge [PIC] the indicated documentation is not on site. Please have information on hand. Raw shell eggs stored on top of ready-to-eat food items in a handy cooler. The manager moved and corrected. Label information for packaged retail snack mixes is missing. Mouse droppings observed on the floor under the shelves / near the water heater. Clean the area and watch to determine how active they are or if they have been removed. PIC said the renovation next door was a contributing factor. PIC said the pest control operator has serviced the facility at least twice to remove it from the facility.
Not critical: The food handler was not wearing a hair retainer. Squeeze bottles lack the common name of the food stored outside of its original packaging. (Please darken worn labels on food storage containers with ingredients.) Missing ceiling tile panels in kitchen. There is an accumulation of debris / residue on the floor and sides of the equipment in the beverage preparation area. A cold room outside the rear of the facility was installed and used without the approval of the health district and applicable approval agencies. Submit equipment information and obtain appropriate approvals. Completed no later than December 30.

Four previous violations have been corrected. Thank you.
Critical: The establishment still has problems with rodents. Found evidence of rodent droppings from the pizza maker cooler and pizza oven. The establishment has plugged holes in the kitchen with foam. The establishment cleaned the floors and walls. Continue to clean and work with a licensed pest control operator.
Not critical: the 3-door cooler in the kitchen has a water pan in the back. Peeling paint on the floor of the storage area. Doors to the outside do not close tightly; now working on the doors today. The walls and ceilings in the kitchen are stained / dirty. Cracked tiles in the kitchen.
