Code Ninjas to debut in Colombia and teach kids to code in a cool new way

COLOMBIA, Mo., November 2, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Ninja Code, one of the fastest growing children’s coding franchises, is about to open its new location at 10 W. Nifong Blvd. to November 2. Code Ninjas will serve the region by offering computer coding lessons for children. The lessons will allow children to solve problems as they create video games and collaborate with other children their age. This new learning center will create an environment where children can learn about technology while having fun.

The Colombia the location is owned and operated by local entrepreneurs and a married couple Bill Rowe and Shelley Bush Rowe. Bill has spent the last 23 years in the telecommunications industry while Shelley has spent most of his career working for the University of Missouri. Neither had given much thought to coding until their 7-year-old daughter approached them asking for help making changes to Minecraft. With little knowledge on the subject, they researched and came across Code Ninjas.

“We saw how Code Ninjas makes learning fun while teaching an essential skill,” Bill said. “Code Ninjas transforms STEM education into something kids enjoy tremendously and are passionate about, while learning something so valuable in the process.”

When they decided to open a Code Ninjas, Bill and Shelley had the opportunity to take over the Wildwood site in Missouri and agreed. There they saw firsthand the rewarding benefits of Code Ninjas.

“Code Ninjas is one of the first of its kind to provide a space for children to learn something that interests them in an environment that encourages them to come out of their shell,” said Bill. “We are able to offer children the opportunity to explore their interests in technology and develop not only coding skills, but also social skills. “

Colombia kids (ages 5-14) can look forward to the new Code Ninjas center where they can learn to code in a fun, safe and social environment. At Code Ninjas, the game is celebrated and STEM is cool. Everything in their centers – or dojos – is built around fun, which keeps kids coming back. The center also delivers the outcomes parents crave, as their kids learn the coding and problem-solving skills they’ll need in the changing job market.

Code Ninjas offers a solid, game-based curriculum consisting of nine belts, just like martial arts. The lessons are self-paced, but not self-taught; children receive immediate help and encouragement from Code Senseis (teachers) and their peers as they move from white belt to black belt. The program keeps kids motivated with small wins along the way and “Belt-Up” celebrations where they are given color-coded bracelets to mark their leveling up. By the time a child completes the program, they will publish their own app, which is publicly available on an app store.

Code Ninjas also offers a variety of opportunities for kids to get involved, including a flexible weekday schedule, Parents Night Out camps and weekend events.
