Hyundai Venue facelift launched this year; to get many style changes

The Hyundai Venue facelift will benefit from a revised rear design and a fine-tuned front end. The launch in India is scheduled for 2022.

Spy photos have emerged from the Hyundai website facelift undergoes testing, revealing new details about its styling. The SUV of less than 4 m has also been test spotted in October last year in South Korea, with a possible N-Line variant spied on recently too.

Hyundai Venue facelift: what do the new images reveal?

A spy photo showing the rear of the Venue facelift confirms a major update with all new taillights with integrated LED elements that now extend over the tailgate. As on the Creta, the rear lights are likely to be connected with a thin LED strip. The taillight graphics mimic those seen on newer Hyundai models overseas, such as the Staria MPV and the Ioniq 5 EV (also destined for India).

The rear bumper also appears to be new, with reflectors placed higher than the current car. The image also shows a redesigned faux pickguard finished in silver. The positioning of the license plate however remains the same as on the current car.

In terms of front styling, the Venue facelift will receive a reworked nose, with styling cues similar to those of the last Tucson (also planned to come to India). The Venue facelift will receive a redesigned grille with new inserts, a reshaped front bumper and updated headlights. From the spy shots, a new alloy rim design is also visible. Other than that, the rest of the design and proportions looks like the actual place itself.

The Venue facelift is also expected to make cosmetic changes to the cabin interior, with new shades and textures for the seats and other likely materials. Functionally, Hyundai is expected to update the technology offered in the Venue facelift, although information on this is scarce. Expect more details to surface as its debut approaches.

Facelift Hyundai Venue: engine and gearbox

Mechanically, the Hyundai Venue facelift should remain identical to the current model. Engine options will include a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 83 hp, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol unit with 120 hp and a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 100 hp. Gearbox options are also expected to be carried over, with the 1.2 petrol coming with a 5-speed manual gearbox only, while the 1.0 petrol turbo and 1.5 diesel units get a 6-speed manual. The turbo-gasoline will also have the choice between an iMTclutchless manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Hyundai Venue facelift: competitors and launch schedule

On the competition side, the Venue facelift will continue to face its Korean brother, the Kia Sonet, and other compact SUVs like the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Aunty nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Urban Cruiser and refreshed it Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Which one is due in the coming months.
