The Manual Random Audit Committee (RMAC), through the Electoral Commission (Comelec), will review the source code of the automated random selection program starting this month.
In a Facebook post, the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (Lente) said the review would begin from March 28 to April 8.
He said registered political parties and armed groups of accredited citizens interested in conducting a source code review can submit their Letter of Intent (LOI) via email to [email protected] no later than March 18.
The letter of intent must indicate the following: the methodologies to be used, the names of two representatives, the contact details and the preferred date between March 28 and April 8.
“Each registered political party or accredited citizens’ armed group that has conducted a source code review must submit a report to RMAC within 10 days of the end of the review period,” Lente said.
Lente, in collaboration with Comelec, and other groups will conduct the random manual audit starting May 12.
Random manual auditing is mandated by law under Section 29 of the Survey Automation Act. It is the process of determining the accuracy of the results of the automated electoral system for national and local elections in the country.
