A man murdered four family members, including a child, in a Texas suburb on Saturday before killing himself. Three other people were also reportedly injured in the nighttime shooting in Navarro County.
The suspect was identified by police on Saturday evening as Kevin Milazzo, 41, local media The Corsicana Daily Sun reported.
Police told the outlet that Milazzo’s deceased family members include his 68-year-old stepfather, William Mimms; his mother Connie Mimms, 61; his son Joshua Milazzo, 21; and his former girlfriend’s son, Hunter Freeman, 4.
Saturday after midnight, police responded to the scene of a shooting in Corsicana, about 55 miles from Dallas. Shortly after, police responded to another shooting in the nearby town of Frost, according to the Daily Sun.
Corsicana Police Chief Robert Johnson told the outlet that a man and woman were shot and killed in Corsicana, while another man and a child were shot and killed in Frost. Two other people were injured in the Corsicana shooting and another in the Frost shooting, with all victims currently in critical condition.
After shooting, Milazzo reportedly on the run, ABC affiliate WFAA reported. The police stopped him on a road and used a surveillance service to shut down his engine. When they approached the vehicle, Milazzo was seriously injured with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to hospital where he later died from his injury.
The Corsicana Police Department was unable to comment immediately when reached by The Hill.
