A tuner in Yokohama, Japan combined the looks and off-road capability of the Suzuki jimny with the passenger capacity and space efficiency of the Suzuki all. The combination producing What T-style design call him Suzuki Jimry, a land kei car who may not have the off-road chops of the Jimny, but certainly has the attitude. It’s probably as close as we’ll get to a Jimny with sliding van doors and I like it.
The Jimry is built using the Suzuki Every as a base according to Autocosmos, but it does have a few modifications to its suspension that make it more worthy of the trails.
The stock Suzuki all sits nearly 6 inches from the ground, and the Jimry mods increase it by 1.5 inches for a total of 7.5 inches of ground clearance. The original 13-inch tires are replaced by 14- or 15-inch tires, depending on construction. Some versions of Jimry are 4×4, but not at all. And others have even more ground clearance, up to four inch on the stock.
The Jimry retains Everyone’s 660cc three-cylinder engine to comply with Kei automotive regulations. This engine makes approximately 63 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. Many conversions from TSD come with a five-speed manual transmission, but some get an automatic transmission. Other equipment includes a top case and roof tent, as well as custom fenders and bumpers that add to the Jimny look. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the Jimny grille.
The grille sits under what looks like the smallest “hood” of all time, but because the Suzuki Every is a cabover design, the hood doesn’t cover an engine. And I don’t know if it’s the chunky dimensions or the far front end, but I get Hummer H2 vibrations. Even then, I still can’t help but love all versions of Jimry.
The mods keep going inside, which has sliding storage compartments under a modular bed. The bed rests on the rear seats when they are folded down and occupies the entire rear part of the cabin.
It’s only in one of Jimry builds announced by TSD, and it looks like the mods are designed to suit the owner. Jimry’s prices range from around $ 21,725 to $ 22,337. It’s for all Jimry built. Autocosmos reports that the changes alone start at around $ 2,178.
